Requests & Recommendations / PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
« Last post by FicFan on November 02, 2009, 03:27:02 AM »
When posting, please make sure that you are adhering to the following rules:

  • The subject is prefixed as appropriate with either [REQ] when you are requesting that someone find/recommend you a story/certain type of story, or [REC] when you are making a recommendation that people read a story.
  • When recommending a story to someone, it must not be your own story.
  • At this time, bumping your own topic is not allowed, please be patient in waiting for a reply, and do not make a second topic asking for the same thing.
  • When making a recommendation, please be sure to include why you are recommending it, and use the template below:

Quote
Site:
Fic Universe:
Genre:
Fic Name:
Fic Author:
Fic URL:
Type: (One-Shot, Short Story, Novel-length etc.)
Rating:
Status: (WIP, Complete, Abandoned)
Summary:

Please see this page on Wikipedia to determine if something is Novel-length.

An example of the template filled in correctly would be:
Quote
Site: FanFiction.net
Fic Universe: Harry Potter
Genre: Humor/Adventure
Fic Name: Make A Wish
Fic Author: Rorschach's Blot
Fic URL: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2318355/1/
Type: Novel-length
Rating: T
Status: Complete
Summary: Harry has learned the prophesy and he does not believe that a schoolboy can defeat Voldemort, so he decides that if he is going to die then he is first going to live.

As you can see from the example above, you are not restricted to recommending stories found only on FicFan.net and are free to recommend stories found on just about any other Fan Fiction site too.

When posting, if it is an issue you require support with, please make sure it complies with the following rules:

  • Prefix the topic title with [SUPPORT]
  • Make sure the Subject is descriptive
  • In the post include all relevant information needed
  - Is it here on the Community Site (FicFan.com), or the Main Site (FicFan.net)?
  - What is your username? (If it is the Main Site you are having issues on, and your username is different from the one you use here on the Community Site)
  - What is the problem you are having?

Do NOT disclose your password.

If you would like to make a suggestion, as above please make sure it includes any relevant information needed - you will not need to mention if your username is different, but you will need to prefix the Subject with [SUGGESTION] and of course mention in the post which site you are making a suggestion about.
